A – selector lever handle; B – selector lever; C – gear selector rod lock nut; D – gear selection rod; E – gear selector lever on the gearbox

1. When adjusting the gear selection rod, the vehicle must be standing on its wheels.

2. Working underneath the vehicle, remove the retaining bracket and remove the gear selector rod from the bottom of the selector lever (see Fig. Removal the bracket securing the rod to the selector lever).

3. Set the selector lever to position N.

4. Loosen the lock nut on the end of the gear selector rod (see fig. Adjusting the length of the gear selection rod).

5. Adjust the length of the gear selector rod by turning the tip so that when the rod and the lever are connected, there is a gap of about 1 mm between the selector lever and the N projection on the gear selector panel. After adjustment, install the gear selector rod on the selector lever and secure it with the mounting bracket, then tighten the lock nut.

Removal

1. Apply the handbrake, then raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.

2. Remove the mounting brackets securing the rod to the selector lever and gear selector lever on the transmission and remove the rod from under the vehicle.

Installation

1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
