Removal

1. Remove the ground cable from the battery and drain the coolant from the cooling system.

2. On models with a magnetic clutch controlled radiator fan, remove the accessory drive belt and belt tensioner.

3. Remove the radiator fan drive thermoviscous or electromagnetic clutch from the water pump.

4. On models with a thermal viscous radiator fan drive clutch, remove the accessory drive belt, then remove the bolts and remove the water pump pulley.

5. Loosen the clamps and disconnect all hoses from the water pump. Unscrew the bolt and remove the heater return pipe from the water pump and remove the O-ring from the pipe.

6. Remove the generator and generator mounting bracket.

7. Unscrew the water pump mounting bolts. Disconnect the water pump tube and remove it together with the pump from the engine block. Remove the water pump gasket.

8. Remove the water pump from the housing and remove the gasket.

Installation

1. Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the water pump and cylinder block from any remaining old gasket material.

2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points.

3. When installing the water pump, use new gaskets and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.

4. Install and adjust the tension of the auxiliary drive belt.
