Removing
Elements of the sensor for measuring air flow and the throttle body of a 4-cylinder engine (six-cylinder similar)
A - fuel distributor; B - housing of the air flow measurement sensor; C - rubber pipe clamp; D - throttle body
1. Remove the fuel distributor and fuel pressure regulator.
2. Unscrew the bolts and move the throttle linkage bracket to the side.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air flow sensor.
4. Loosen the large rubber pipe clamp and separate the throttle body from the bottom of the air flow sensor.
5. Unscrew the nuts securing the air flow sensor to the rubber mounting elements and brackets (see picture).
6. Remove the air flow sensor from the throttle body and disconnect the idle speed air hose from it.
7. Unscrew the screws and remove the rubber gasket from the air flow sensor housing. Note the location of the screws as they are of different lengths.
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
2. Start the engine and check that there are no leaks from previously removed elements. Check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed and the CO content in the exhaust gases.
