Removal
4-cylinder engine air flow metering sensor and throttle body components (six-cylinder is similar)
A – fuel distributor; B – air flow sensor housing; C – rubber pipe fastening clamp; D – throttle body
1. Remove the fuel distributor and fuel pressure regulator.
2. Remove the bolts and move the throttle link bracket to the side.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the air flow sensor.
4. Loosen the large rubber hose clamp and separate the throttle body from the bottom of the air flow sensor.
5. Remove the nuts securing the air flow sensor to the rubber mounting elements and brackets (see picture).
6. Remove the air flow sensor from the throttle body and disconnect the idle air hose from it.
7. Remove the screws and the rubber gasket from the air flow sensor housing. Note the location of the screws as they are different lengths.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
2. Start the engine and check that there are no leaks from the previously removed components. Check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed and CO content in the exhaust gases.
