Automatic transmission (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

0
Even with full synchronization, easy gear shifting and a "light" clutch pedal, shifting gears remains a difficult task for some drivers. To relieve drivers of the need to solve this problem, Mercedes-Benz began producing automatic transmissions (AT).

The automatic transmission (Fig. 1.17) is designed for convenient and easy control.

Its distinctive feature is smooth and easy gear shifting. The automatic transmission independently decides when and which gear to use. The control and management of the electrical and hydraulic functions of the automatic transmission is carried out by a special electronic control unit. The fourth generation of automatic transmissions, which have been installed since the beginning of 1995 on the Mercedes E-class (E 320 and E 420), there are 5 gear shifting stages with electronic control.
