Chassis of the T-model with a station wagon body (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

0
The T-model uses the same suspension design: double wishbones at the front and spatial levers at the rear. The proven design has only been adjusted to take into account the greater weight and greater load capacity of the station wagon.

Suspension and damping the T-models received a special adjustment taking into account the increased weight. Therefore, there were no negative changes in comfort and driving performance.

Rear suspension The T-model differs in the subframe, which is made of metal parts of a larger cross-section. The rear suspension has other settings.

High load capacity The T-model also entailed the serial use of larger tires 205/65 R15 (the sedan has 195/65 R15) and 7 I x 15 wheels (6.5 J x 15 for the sedan). Avantgarde trim levels and the E-420 model use 215/55 R16 tires and 7.5 J x 16 wheels.

Brake discs the rear wheels of the T-model have a diameter of 290 mm, which is 12 mm larger than the sedan. The thickness of the disc is 12 mm (the sedan has 9 mm).
