Location of the hinge bolts to the trunk lid

1. Open the trunk lid and remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. Carefully remove the retaining clips and remove the interior trim of the trunk lid (see fig. Removing the inner trim mounting pin of the trunk lid, Removing the inner trim of the trunk lid).

3. Label and disconnect the electrical connectors from the electrical units located on the trunk lid. Tie a thin, long cord to the electrical connectors. Remove the rubber sealing gaskets from the wiring harness and pull the wiring out of the trunk lid. After the cord appears from the trunk lid, untie it from the electrical connectors and leave it in the trunk lid. In the future, this cord must be used to tighten the wires into the trunk lid.

4. Using a marker or pencil, mark the position of the hinges on the trunk lid, then unscrew the hinge mounting bolts and remove the trunk lid (see Fig. Location of the bolts securing the hinges to the trunk lid). Mark the location and remove all shims located between the hinges and the trunk lid.

Installation

1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Install the hinges in accordance with the previously made marks.

2. To position the trunk lid flush with the rest of the body, loosen the trunk lid hinge bolts and adjust the position of the trunk lid, then tighten the bolts.
