Removal
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.
Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.
2. Open the trunk and remove the warning sign from the holder.
3. Remove the trunk lid trim, refer to the relevant section.
4. Disconnect all wires on the cover.
5. Pull back the trim on the trunk lid wings. If necessary, disconnect all the retaining strips and remove the trim.
6. Mark the position of the wings on the trunk lid with a felt-tip pen.
7. Ask an assistant to hold the cover and remove 2 bolts on the left and right sides of the cover.
8. Lift the lid up out of the wing slats and place it on a soft surface.
Installation
1. Insert the cover into the strips on the wings. Align the cover according to the marks.
2. Screw in two mounting bolts on the left and right, close the cover and set it to obtain a uniform gap along the perimeter of the fit.
3. Tighten the mounting bolts to 8 Nm.
4. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
5. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. Enter the radio code and set the clock.
Gaps
Check the gaps along the cover fit contour. The values are given in Specifications.
