Station wagon



Note: This describes removal and installation for the Station Wagon model. The installation and removal process for other models is similar. Differences are noted in the text.


Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.

Warning! Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.


2. Estate: Remove the tailgate trim, refer to the relevant section.

3. Sedan: Disconnect the cover plate from the lock as described in Section Removal and installation the trunk lid trim.

4. Remove the 2 mounting screws (1) and detach the lock (2) from the tailgate.

5. Slightly remove the lock (2) from the tailgate and disconnect the connector (1) at the lock.

6. Disconnect the cable (1) at the locking mechanism (2) (arrow on the illustration) and remove the…


6. Disconnect the cable (1) at the locking mechanism (2) (arrow on the illustration) and remove the lock with the cable. (3) – single lock plug.

Installation



1. Secure the lock to the tailgate without tightening the bolts.

2. Connect the cable to the lock mechanism.

3. Connect the connector to the lock.

4. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. Enter the radio code and set the clock.

5. Close the door carefully, making sure the lock is in the correct position. Adjust the lock if necessary.

6. Open the door and tighten the mounting bolts to 9 Nm.

7. Station wagon: Reinstall the door trim, refer to the appropriate section.

8. Sedan: Secure the cover to the lock as described in Section Removal and installation the trunk lid trim.
