Examination



Check the clearances in the mating of the tailgate with the adjacent body elements. The values are given in the Specifications.

Adjustment



1. Open the tailgate.

2. Unscrew the fastening bolts (1) on the right and left hinges.


2. Unscrew the fastening bolts (1) on the right and left hinges.

3. Remove the cargo compartment plug, refer to the relevant section.

4. Unscrew the retainer mounting bolts.

5. Unscrew the bolts securing the side plastic stops. Push the stops forward.

6. Close the tailgate and adjust the gap. Tighten the hinge and retainer bolts to 9Nm.

7. Adjust the stops so that they fit snugly when the door is closed. Tighten the mounting bolts.

8. Reinstall the cargo compartment plug, refer to the relevant section.

Sports Coupe



Examination



Check the clearances in the mating of the tailgate with the adjacent body elements. The values are given in the Specifications.

Adjustment



1. Open the tailgate.

2. Using a plastic wedge, release the roof trim at the rear of the passenger compartment and pull it back slightly. Carefully insert a 65 mm high wooden block between the roof and the trim.



3. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the hinge between the roof and the cladding.

4. Remove the clip and remove the interior trim in the trunk.

5. Unscrew the retainer mounting bolts.

6. Close the tailgate and adjust the gap. Tighten the bolts and nuts on the hinges to 9 Nm.

7. Install the interior trim in the trunk and secure the roof trim.
