Removal



1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. You must first remove the cabin air filter box. Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio's security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.

2. Remove the tailgate or trunk lid trim, refer to the relevant section.

3. Disconnect the connector at the locking mechanism.

4. If necessary, remove the locking mechanism, refer to the relevant section.

5. Remove the emergency key from the ignition key, refer to Section Ignition Key/Remote Control Battery Replacement.

6. Insert the emergency key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise until a hole appears in the…

7. Insert the removal tool (2) into the hole, release the lock cylinder and remove it from the lock.

Note: The removal tool can be made independently from V2A wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm.


Installation



1. Insert the emergency key into the lock cylinder, turn it counterclockwise and slide the cylinder into the lock.

2. Turn the emergency key clockwise until the cylinder locks into place.

3. Remove the emergency key from the lock and insert it into the ignition key, refer to Section Ignition Key/Remote Control Battery Replacement.

4. If necessary, install the locking mechanism, refer to the relevant section.

5. Connect the connector to the locking mechanism.

6. Reinstall the trunk lid/tailgate trim, refer to the relevant section.

7. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. Enter the radio code and set the clock.
