Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable (-) battery with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must first be removed. Before disconnecting the cable, find out the security code of the radio, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.
2. Remove facing of a door of a back or a cover of a luggage carrier, address to the corresponding section.
3. Disconnect the connector at the locking mechanism.
4. If necessary, remove the locking mechanism, refer to the appropriate section.
5. Remove the emergency key from the ignition key, refer to Section Replacing the battery of the ignition key/remote control.
6. Insert the emergency key into the lock and turn counterclockwise until (1) a hole appeared.
7. Insert the removal tool into the hole (2), release the lock cylinder and remove it from the lock.
Note. The puller tool can be made by yourself using V2A wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm.
Installation
1. Insert the emergency key into the lock cylinder, turn counterclockwise and slide the cylinder into the lock.
2. Turn the emergency key clockwise until the cylinder locks into place.
3. Remove the emergency key from the lock and insert it into the ignition key, refer to Section Replacing the battery of the ignition key/remote control.
4. If necessary, install the locking mechanism, refer to the appropriate section.
5. Connect the connector at the locking mechanism.
6. Reinstall the trunk lid/tailgate trim, refer to the appropriate section.
7. Connect the negative cable (-) to the battery when the ignition is off. Install the cabin air filter box. Enter the radio code and set the time on the clock.
