When purchasing a car, the owner is provided with two main remote controls (RC) equipped with folding keys. The key included with the RC is suitable for all locks used on the car.
Main remote control for single lock with folding key (2 pcs)
1 - Folding key release button; 2 - Lock button; 3 - Lock release button; 4 - Tailgate release button
The remote control (RC) allows you to activate locks/emergency alarms from a distance of up to 10 meters (depending on local conditions).
If you lose the remote control, you should recode the single lock at a Mercedes-Benz service station - you can also order a spare remote control there.
Remote control failures may be caused by the following reasons:
- a) The key is in the ignition switch;
- b) The battery level of the remote control has dropped;
- c) The distance between the remote control and the car exceeds 10 meters;
- d) The synchronization of the single lock system is broken (see below).
When handling remote controls, please observe the following precautions:
- a) Do not allow the remote control to get wet!
- b) Do not drop or shake the remote control!
- c) Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or heat above 60°C for a long time!
It is also possible to control the operation of the lock actuators using a key switch mounted in the front section of the central console (see Vehicle equipment, arrangement of instruments and controls).
Note: If the locks were locked using the remote control, unlocking them using the console switch is not possible. Locking the locks using the console switch can only be done when all the vehicle doors are tightly closed.
The fixed switch for the single lock is located in the front part of the central console of the car
1 - Remote control buttons
5 - Retractable key
Automatic simultaneous locking of all vehicle doors occurs when the vehicle speed reaches a certain value (about 15 km/h), - unlocking any of the front doors of the car from the inside will result in the unlocking of the others (provided that the last unlocking was not limited to the driver's door).
Note: If the doors are unlocked using the central locking switch on the center console after the locks have been activated while driving, the locks will remain unlocked even after the vehicle is driven again.
Attention! Automatic door locking occurs when the left front wheel is turned when the ignition key is turned to position 2, which should be taken into account in order not to be left outside when pushing a stuck car!
The automatic door locking function while driving can be switched off by holding down the lower part of the console single lock switch button for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition key turned to position 2, - the function can be reactivated by holding down the upper part of the button for 10 seconds (the ignition key must also be turned to position 2).
The creators of the single lock have provided a function for automatic unlocking of door locks in the event of an emergency collision with an excess of a specified overload level.
Rules for using the remote control
Note: When the key is left in the ignition switch, it is not possible to control the single lock using the remote control.
Controlling the operation of lock actuators
The remote control allows you to simultaneously unlock/lock all doors (including tailgate) and the fuel tank filler cap.
Individual unlocking of the driver's door
To unlock the driver's door, press the button once
Unlocking all locks
Double click on the button
If after unlocking the car none of the doors are opened for about 40 seconds, the locks will automatically switch to the locked position (with activation of the anti-theft alarm, if provided).
Individual release of the tailgate
The tailgate can be unlocked individually by pressing a button
Locking all locks
To lock all locks simultaneously, press the button once
Replacing the remote control batteries
Note: Replacement batteries for the remote controls are always available from Mercedes-Benz service stations.

To replace the batteries in the main remote control, open the key built into it, then push up the access cover on the rear panel

Install the replacement batteries with the positive pole facing up, then snap the cover securely into place and remove the key.
After replacing the batteries, make sure the remote control is functioning properly by pressing each button in turn. If necessary, repeat the procedure for installing the elements and/or synchronize the single lock (see below).
Single Lock Sync
If the remote control lock actuators fail to operate, the system must be synchronized.
Turn the key in the ignition switch to position 2, then return it to position 0 and remove it from the switch.
Within 60 seconds of removing the key, press the button once
