Removal
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable with the ignition off. The cabin air filter box must be removed first.
Before disconnecting the cable, find out the radio receiver's security code, if any, refer to Section Replacing the battery.
2. Unlock the car door with the ignition key. Keep the door unlocked during the following work.
3. Open the door and detach the sealing strip (1) at the height of the door handle from the door frame.
4. Insert a screwdriver into the hole (2) and unscrew the small Torx screw.
5. Pull the door handle (1) and hold it in this position. At the same time, remove the lock cylinder (2).
6. Disconnect the connector (3) of the lock cylinder and remove the cylinder.
7. Remove the cover (1) from the lock cylinder.
8. Pull the door handle back (arrow on the illustration) and remove it from the front holder.
9. Disconnect the handle from the rear holder (2) and remove it from the door.
10. Remove the door handle seals.
Installation
1. Install the door handle with sealing gaskets in place. First insert the handle into the rear holder, while the lever (3) should engage behind the leash (1) of the locking mechanism. (2) – lock cylinder.
Note: The illustration shows the handle support clamp (4) from the inside of the door. To remove the support clamp, you must remove the door trim.
2. Insert the handle into the front holder while pushing the handle forward.
3. Pull the handle and hold it in this position and insert the lock cylinder with the cover.
Warning! If the unlocking condition has been disturbed, first set the lock with the emergency key by turning it counterclockwise to the "open" position.
4. Insert the Torx screw and secure the cylinder to the door.
5. Fix the sealing tape to the door frame.
6. Connect the negative (-) cable to the battery with the ignition off. Reinstall the cabin air filter box. Enter the radio code and set the clock.
7. Check the operation of the door locking mechanism.
Note: If the single lock is locked by mistake, please reset the dashboard settings if necessary.
