Removal
21. Remove the retaining ring 1 from the window lift shaft using a special tool or by prying it off with a screwdriver 2. Always install the removal tool on the side of the window lift handle (see arrow in illustration).
22. Remove the handle from the shaft. To prevent the retaining ring from getting lost, install it into the groove on the window lift shaft immediately after removing the handle.
Installation
23. Place the handle together with the retaining ring on the shaft and tap it with the palm of your hand until it stops. The retaining ring should go into the groove on the window lifter shaft.
