1. Remove the ground cable from the battery. Open the rear door, then remove the clips and remove the lower trim of the rear door. To remove the clip, unscrew the center screw and remove the clip from the trim (see fig. Removing the rear door trim mounting pin, Removing the rear door lower trim).

2. Detach the decorative cover of the rear door lock button, then release the inner panel and remove it from the rear door (see fig. Removing the decorative cover of the door lock button).

3. Mark the location of the rods and disconnect them from the door lock (see fig. Disconnecting rods from door lock).

4. Disconnect the electrical connector located on the lock wires, then unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the lock from the rear door along with the rubber sealing ring of the lock cylinder. It may be necessary to unscrew the screw and remove the interior handle of the lock from the rear door to make room for removing the lock (see fig. Disconnecting the electrical connector of the rear door lock, Location of the bolts securing the rear door lock, Removing the rear door lock, Unscrewing the screw securing the inner handle of the rear door lock).

5. Repair of the rear door lock must be carried out at a service station. The only thing that can be replaced independently is the microswitch and the lock closing motor. If necessary, unscrew the bolts and remove the lock cylinder from the rear door lock (see Fig. Location of bolts securing the lock cylinder to the rear door lock).

Installation

1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the trim panel, check the operation of the rear door lock.
