Front Door Mounting Bolt Locations

Front Door Mounting Bolt Locations

1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

2. If the vehicle has electric windows or is equipped with central locking, remove the door trim.

3. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the central lock vacuum hose from the electrical equipment in the door. Mark the location, then remove the electrical wiring and vacuum hose from the mounting brackets. Remove the rubber sealing ring from the front edge of the door and remove the electrical wiring and vacuum hose from the door.

4. Using a pencil or marker, mark the location of the hinges on the door frame.

5. Remove the mounting bracket and washer and remove the hinge pin securing the door opening limiter to the A-pillar. If the hinge pin is very tight, use a punch and hammer to knock it out. Remove the rubber protective cover from the end of the door (see fig. Location of the rubber protective cover on the end of the front door, Removing the pin securing the door opening limiter).

6. While an assistant supports the door, unscrew the door mounting bolts and remove the door from the vehicle (see Fig. Front Door Fastening Bolt Locations).

7. Check the door hinges for wear and damage. If the door hinges need to be replaced, mark their location on the door, then unscrew the bolts and remove the hinges from the door. Install the new hinge according to the marks and secure it with bolts, tightening them to the required torque.

Back door

Remove the rubber protective cover from the end of the door.

6. While an assistant supports the door, remove the door mounting bolts and remove the door from the vehicle.

Installation

1. Install the door on the vehicle and tighten the door hinge mounting bolts. Align the door hinges according to the marks made before removal, then tighten the hinge mounting bolts to the specified torque.

2. Move the rubber protective cover to the door stopper, then align the door opening stopper with the bracket and install the hinge pin and washer and secure it with the bracket. Install the rubber protective cover to the front end of the door.

3. If present, route the vacuum hose and electrical wiring into the door and install the rubber seal in place. Check that the hose and electrical wiring are positioned correctly and secure them with staples.

4. After installing the door, check that the gap around the perimeter of the door is the same everywhere, and that the outer surface of the door is flush with the rest of the body elements. To adjust the gap around the perimeter of the door, loosen the door hinge mounting bolts and, moving the door, adjust its position, then tighten the mounting bolts.

5. To install the door flush with the rest of the body, loosen the door hinge-to-door mounting bolts and adjust the door position, then tighten the mounting bolts.
