Removal and installation of headlights and their lamps (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123)

1. To remove a simple or fog lamp bulb, lift the hood and open the rear cover of the headlight unit.

2. Disconnect the wires from the lamp, then release the spring latch or twist the lamp socket and remove it. Do not touch the bulb with your fingers. If you do touch it, wipe the bulb with denatured alcohol.

3. To remove the headlight, first remove the turn signal and then unscrew the side screws securing the headlight.

4. Loosen the internal mounting screws and remove the headlight from the vehicle.

5. To disassemble the headlight, release its latches and remove the glass.

6. Remove the trim panel.





7. Release the latches and vacuum corrector and remove the reflectors.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
