Brake fluid easily absorbs moisture, which helps to lower its boiling point and at the same time increases the likelihood of corrosion of brake system parts. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the brake fluid annually.
The process of changing brake fluid is basically the same as bleeding the system. The main difference is that when changing brake fluid, you should pour it from new sealed containers, and once the reservoir is full, have an assistant pump the brake pedal about 10 times while you open the bleed screw on each brake caliper one at a time. This will ensure that all lines are filled with fresh brake fluid.
