Every six months, lift the machine and inspect the flexible hoses connecting the steel brake lines to the front and rear brakes for cracks, chafing, leaks, swelling, or other damage. These hoses are an important and very vulnerable part of the brake system and are subject to the most thorough inspection (you can use a mirror and a light bulb). If any defects are found on the hose, it should be replaced.
1. Using a wrench, disconnect the hose at its connection to the hard line and then unscrew it from the brake caliper or fitting.
2. When installing the hose, check that all bolts and threaded connections are clean. Use only your hands when screwing in the hose. After screwing in the hose, tighten it with a wrench.
3. After installing the hose, check that there are no sharp bends or twists on it. Make sure the hose is not touching any suspension parts by turning the wheels all the way to the right and all the way to the left. If the hose touches the hanger, move the clamp plate on the hose bracket and move the hose.
4. Fill in a brake liquid in a tank and pump over system.
