Removing the front door drop glass

Removing the front door drop glass

1. Remove the window regulator (see Removal and installation a mechanical door window lifter and Removal and installation an electric window lifter).

Models with sedan and station wagon body

1. Install the lowering glass against the door frame window and unscrew the bolts securing the window regulator guides.

2. Remove the inner and outer seals from the top of the door, the outside rearview mirror from the left door and the inner trim from the right door. Also remove the molding.

3. Lift the rear of the glass, push it forward and remove it through the top of the door opening.

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Before tightening the window regulator guide mounting bolts, lower the glass completely, insert it into the groove by pressing forward, while simultaneously pressing the guide back, and tighten the bolts. Raise the glass completely and loosen the rear groove mounting bolts. Press the glass back into the grooves and tighten the bolts.

Coupe models

1. Remove the inner seals from the top of the door.

2. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the upper and lower stops from the rear guide groove.

3. Remove the lower nut and upper bolt, then remove the rear glass guide channel.

4. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the rear guide wedge.

5. Push the glass back and remove it from the door.

Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. In this case, adjust the position of the glass as follows.

1. Adjust the position of the front guide holder so that it lightly touches the sealing gasket after the door is closed.

2. Make sure that when the glass is raised, its front edge is aligned with the guide holder.

3. If necessary, adjust the position of the upper stops, grooves and window regulator guides.

4. Lateral adjustment is carried out by guide pins. When the glass is completely lowered, its upper edge should be flush with the seals - adjustment is carried out by moving the stop on the window lifter guide.

5. Adjust the position of the guide wedge so that it touches the rear edge of the glass. Finally, apply a small amount of anti-corrosion grease to the inside surface of the grooves.
