Removing
1. Open the door all the way and support it from below with a jack or stand, placing some soft material under them.
2. Disconnect the door opening limiter from the body pillar.
3. If the car is equipped with power windows, disconnect the electrical wiring.
4. Fix the position of the hinge plates on the door frame, unscrew and remove the hinge screws. Remove the door from the car.
Installation
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal. If the hinges are attached in the same position, then no special adjustment is required. If it is necessary to raise or lower the door or make it flush with the body surface, loosen the hinge bolts and move the door in the desired direction. The gap along the contour of the door must be the same on both side edges and on the top.
Adjusting the position of the lock retainer plate
Adjusting the position of the lock retainer plate on the body pillar affects the closing of the door and the protrusion or recession of the edges of the door relative to the panel or body pillar.
To adjust the position of the latch plate, the screws of its fastening are loosened so that it moves with difficulty, after which the door closes. In this way, the closing position of the door is obtained. Then you should carefully open the door and tighten the screws until it stops. If necessary, shims are removed from under the retainer plate or shims are added there, which allows you to get a good closing. It is sometimes useful to adjust the door so that its trailing edge protrudes 1.0 mm from the rear door or body panel to reduce airflow noise.
