1. Remove the generator.
2. Remove the bolts (1), disconnect the spring clips and remove the protective cover (2). Unscrew the bolts (4) and remove the regulator (5).
3. Replace the carbon brushes by unsoldering the stranded connecting flexible wire.
4. Check the slip rings for wear and, if necessary, grind them clean and polish.
Installation
1. Insert new carbon brushes (A) and springs (IN) into the carbon brush holder (WITH) and solder the connections.
2. To prevent the tin solder from rising high in the flexible wire when soldering new brushes, support the stranded connecting flexible wire of the brushes with pliers.
Attention! Due to the high rise of tin solder, the stranded connecting flexible wires become stiff, and the carbon brushes become inoperative.
3. Install the voltage regulator and screw it on firmly. When installing, pay attention to the fact that the protrusion for connecting to the car body is adjacent to the regulator.
4. After installing new carbon brushes, check them for ease of movement in their holders.
5. Place the protective cover on the generator and screw it on.
6. Install the generator.
