1. Connect a voltmeter between the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
2. Start the engine. During the starting process, the voltage may drop to 9.5 V.
3. At an engine speed of 3000 rpm, the voltage should be 13.0–14.5 V. This proves that the generator and regulator are working.
