Removal

1. Disconnect the ground (–) cable from the battery terminal.

Caution! Disconnect only with the ignition off, otherwise the fuel injection system control unit may be damaged. Before disconnecting the wires from the battery terminals, you should also read the recommendations in the relevant sections.


2. Loosen the tension of the V-ribbed belt and only then remove it from the generator belt pulley.

3. Raise the front of the vehicle. If equipped, remove the lower engine compartment cover.

4. Remove the contact protection (4) from the generator flange.

5. Unscrew the electrical wires (1) and (2) on the generator.

6. Remove the bolts (3) from the holder and remove the generator.

Installation



1. Insert the generator, tighten the mounting bolts to 40 Nm.

2. Screw the wire to terminal 30 with a torque of 15 Nm, and to terminal 61 with a torque of 5 Nm. Fit the contact protection.

3. Place and tension the V-belt.



4. Install the lower engine compartment cover.

5. Connect the ground (–) cable to the battery terminal. Set the clock time and enter the anti-theft code for the radio.
