Removing
1. Mark with paint the position of the front wheels in relation to the hub. Thanks to this, the balanced wheel returns to the same position after removal. Loosen the wheel bolts before lifting the vehicle. Raise the car at the front and remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the bottom protection of the engine compartment.
3. The shock absorbers also serve as a backstop. Place a garage jack under the lower suspension arm and, using a piece of wood, raise it slightly so that the suspension does not fall down when the shock absorber is removed.
4. Remove the front casing of the engine compartment. Due to the difficult access to the upper shock absorber mount on the right side of the car, the overvoltage protection relay must be removed.
5. For a diesel engine, the gas drive is removed on the left, and for a diesel engine with an automatic transmission, the vacuum control valve is removed.
6. Unscrew the shock absorber locknut and nut while holding the shock absorber rod with a wrench by the two flats so that it does not turn. Remove washers and rubber support.
7. Unscrew the nut (11u) on suspension arm (31), remove the bolt (11k) washer and remove the shock absorber.
Attention! The garage jack can be removed. The suspension has a stop on the upper arm, which rests on the spar and prevents further backswing.
Installation
1. Check for a stop buffer (11b), thermowell (11f) and dimensional sleeve (11u), put on if necessary. On new shock absorbers, these parts are already worn. Install damper (11d).
2. Place the shock absorber with the bolt on the lower control arm with washers, and thread a new self-locking nut onto the bolt. Tighten it with a torque of 55 Nm.
3. Using a garage jack, set the suspension arm to the position required to install the upper shock mount.
4. Place the rubber mount on the front of the engine compartment on the shock absorber rod (11c) and puck (11b).
5. Screw the rod nut with a torque of 15 Nm, while holding the shock absorber rod by the flats with a wrench. Tighten the locknut to 30 Nm while holding the nut from turning.
6. Remove the garage jack.
7. Put the protection of the engine compartment.
8. Put on the wheels, observing the previously painted markings of their previous position. Screw on the wheels. Lower the vehicle onto the wheels and cross tighten the wheel bolts to 110 Nm.
9. Insert surge relay.
10. For diesel models, install a gas actuator, respectively, a reduced pressure control valve.
