Note: A new gasket may be required during installation.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Raise the engine hood to the fully open position as described in chapter 11.
3. If you are dealing with a turbo engine, in order to provide enough space to remove the camshaft cover, disconnect and remove the turbocharger manifold,
4. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cover.
5. If required, disconnect the throttle/downshift cable from the control lever that crosses the top of the cover. If this requires removing the lever adjusting screw, first apply alignment marks to both separable parts of the lever.
6. Turn out bolts of fastening of a cover of a camshaft if it is necessary, remove washers.
7. Raise the camshaft cover. If the lid becomes tight, lift it up by shaking your hands and. if necessary, tap with a hammer with a protected head - do this carefully, as the cover is easily damaged.
8. Remove the gasket.
Installation
9. Check up a condition of a lining and, if necessary, replace it.

12. Tighten the bolts gradually to the torque values specified in section "Technical data".
13. Connect the ventilation hose.
14. If available, install the turbocharger duct.
