Removing
1. Raise the hood to a vertical position by depressing the latch on the left hinge, releasing the strut holder, and pushing the hood up.
2. Remove the retainer and remove the thrust post from the bottom stud of the support (see fig. 6.2).

3. Disconnect the washer hose from the shut-off valve on the right side and release the hose clamps on the hood hinge.
4. Remove the jet heater wire from the recess in the hood next to the jets and disconnect the wire plug from the connectors.
5. Tie a piece of string to the main cable and pull the cable out of the recess in the hood on the hinge side. When the end of the rope appears, untie it and remove the wire. When installing, tie the cable to the rope and pull it back.
6. Remove the hinge fastening strips by releasing the upper turn of the latch from the hinge pin, then remove the strips upwards (see fig. 6.6).

7. Mark the position of the lower mounting bolts on both sides so that the hood can be reinstalled.
8. Have an assistant support the hood while you unscrew the lower mounting nut on each side, remove the hinge bolts and hinge pins, and carefully lift the hood.
Installation
9. To install the hood, install the hinge pin and hinge bolt bushings into the hinges if they popped out when removed.
10. Replace the hood and insert the lower hinge bolt. Turn the bolt so that the square sector aligns with the rectangular hole in the hinge arm.
11. Insert the upper hinge pin and turn it so that the cut in the head of the hinge pin is horizontal.
12. Install the hinge nut, position the hood on the previously made marks and tighten the nut. Install the hinge attachment bar, then repeat these steps on the hinge on the other side.
13. Tie the washer jet wire to a rope and pull the wire through the hood into place. Connect wire connectors.
14. Connect the washer hoses to the shut-off valve and secure with new clamps to the hood hinge.
15. Position the support post on the support pin and secure with the retainer.
16. Lower the hood and check its installation and alignment. If necessary, adjust the position as described in paragraph 7.
