Moving the hood to a vertical position

1. Pull the lever (1) on the left under the instrument panel, release the hood lock latch - the hood will open slightly to the length of the locking hook (2).
2. Go around the front of the vehicle, lift the hood slightly and, releasing the locking hook (2), lift the lid completely.
Attention! Make sure that the wiper blades are pressed against the windshield beforehand!
3. Using a screwdriver, press the holder (3), separate the gas-filled bonnet stop (4) from the ball head, then tilt the bonnet back as far as it will go, having first placed something soft underneath it.

Lubrication points for bonnet lock components
1. Disconnect the electrical wiring (3) from the windshield washer fluid nozzles (4).
2. Remove the nipple connectors (5) from the nozzles (4).
3. Remove the hose (6) and wiring harness (7) and release their bushings (8) from the hood. Also remove the intermediate clamps (9). Assess the condition of the bushings and clamps, and prepare replacement components if necessary.
4. Disconnect the ground bus (10).
5. Having asked an assistant to hold the hood, unscrew the mounting screws (11).
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to lubricate the hinges and the lock assembly.
7. Make sure that the clearance of the hood in the body opening is the same around the entire perimeter; if necessary, remove the front grille (see Section Removal and installation the front grille) and adjust the position of the latch so that it operates with little resistance.
8. Check the proper functioning of the windshield washers.
