10. Remove both inner races 11b of the tapered roller bearings from differential 13.

11. Loosen and unscrew bolts 13a securing the driven gear of the main transmission.

12. Remove the driven gear of the main transmission 47a from the differential 13.

13. Loosen and unscrew nut 40 securing flange 41.

14. Remove flange 41.

15. Remove the main gear pinion 47 from the gearbox.

16. Press out oil seal 42 from the gearbox.

17. Remove the inner ring of bearing 43d.

18. Remove the outer rings of bearings 46b 43e from the gearbox.

19. Remove gasket 45.

20. Remove sleeve 44 with gasket 48 from the drive gear.

Examination

1. Check all parts for wear and replace if necessary.

2. Check the driving gear 47 and driven gear 47a for matching numbering.

Assembly and adjustment

1. Press the inner ring of bearing 46a onto the drive gear 47.

2. Calculate the thickness of the 45 gasket and install it in the gearbox housing.

3. Install the outer rings of bearings 46b, 43e into the gearbox housing.

4. Install sleeve 44 with gaskets 48 on both sides on the drive gear.

8. Tighten nut 40.

9. Adjust the friction torque in the drive gear bearing.

10. Check the drive gear clearance.

11. Install driven gear 47a on differential 13. To do this, it is necessary to heat the driven gear to a temperature of 75-85°C.

12. Press the inner bearing race 11b onto the differential.

13. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.

14. Check and adjust the flange axial clearance.

15. Secure the back cover 54.

16. Remove the gearbox from the vice.

Installation

1. Install gearbox 50.

2. Fill with oil. Oil volume: 1.2 l.

3. Replace breather 55 on rear cover 54.

Technical data:
  • Frictional moment in the bearing of the drive gear (new tapered roller bearings): 215-245 Nm.
  • Permissible deviation from the adjustment parameter at the end of the drive gear: -0.02/+0.01 mm.
  • Clearance between the driving and driven gears of the main transmission: 0.08-0.014 mm.
  • Axial clearance between flange and differential housing: 0.03-0.3 mm.
