Checking and adjusting the flange clearance (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W220)

Check the clearance between flange 33 and bevel gear of drive shaft 17. If necessary, install a thinner or thicker retaining ring 30a. The thickness of the retaining ring varies from 1.4 mm to 2.7 mm in 0.05 mm increments. Clearance between flange and differential housing: 0.03-0.3 mm.
