General information
Speed control system (tempostat) included as standard on all models. The system allows you to automatically maintain the selected cruising speed of the car without affecting the gas pedal. The cruising speed must be at least 40 km/h. The use of the tempostat becomes especially convenient when driving for a long time on lightly loaded direct suburban highways. For safety reasons, it is not recommended to turn on the cruise control when driving in the city, on winding roads full of turns, on slippery road surfaces, in heavy rain and under other adverse weather conditions. In the cases listed above, the driver must be able to fully control the mode of movement of the car.
Attention! Incorrect use of the tempostat can cause an accident! Activate the cruise control system only when driving on open highways and in favorable weather conditions.
Attention! During the operation of the system, automatic movement of the gas pedal may occur, which should not be held by the foot in order to avoid damage to the support and axle mechanisms!
The lever switch for controlling the functioning of the tempostat is located on the left side of the steering column, above the assembly of the combined steering column switch.
the system is switched on/off by means of the button of the main switch of the tempostat equipped with a built-in control lamp and is accompanied by the activation of the corresponding control lamp on the instrument panel of the car.
Tempostat operation control
Tempostat standard design
The tempostat operation control switch is located on the right side of the steering column
1 - Entering the current speed value into the system memory (briefly depress the lever) /speed up (hold the lever down)
2 - Entering the current speed value into the system memory (briefly depress the lever) /speed reduction (hold the lever down)
3 - Shutdown (cruising speed remains in system memory)
4 - Calling the value of cruising speed from the system memory
The design of the tempostat switch allows you to enter into the system memory as a cruising any current vehicle speed, if it exceeds a value of 40 km / h, it is enough to briefly press the lever up or down. After entering the cruising speed, release the gas pedal.
Raising and lowering the cruise speed value is done by pushing the lever up/down respectively.
Short-term acceleration of the car, for example, when overtaking, can be done by depressing the gas pedal - after releasing the pedal, the speed will automatically decrease to the cruising value entered in the memory of the tempostat.
After the vehicle has accelerated to a speed above 40 km/h, the cruising speed memorized by the cruise control can be called up by briefly pulling the lever towards you.
Attention! Activate cruising speed recall from the system memory only if you know its value and are ready to move with it.
Note. When driving downhill and uphill with the cruise control turned on, deviations from the set cruising speed value may occur.
When the key is turned in the ignition switch to position 1 or 0, the cruising value stored in the tempostat memory is reset.
Tempostat with speed limiter
How to use the tempostat switch with speed limiter
1 - Increase speed
2 - Enable / activate the limiter
3 - Shutdown
4 - Decrease speed
The tempostat is switched on by pushing the switch lever down.
The principle of operation of the tempostat in normal mode is similar to that described above for standard systems.
When the current speed is below 35 km/h, the design of the tempostat allows you to enter a speed limit with the entry into the memory of the tempostat of the value of the maximum permissible speed of 30 km/h. To activate the speed limiter, also pull the switch lever down - the display screen shows a value of 30 km / h.
Note. When driving downhill, the current speed may slightly exceed the maximum permissible value (30 km/h).
Speedtronic system
How to use the tempostat switch on models equipped with Speedtronic
1 - Activate the speed limiter / increase the value of cruising speed in steps of 10 km / h
2 - Activate the speed limiter / decrease the value of the cruise speed in steps of 10 km / h
3 - Turn off the speed limiter
4 - Recalling the stored speed limit value / fine adjustment of the speed in steps of 1 km / h
5 - Switching tempostat / Speedtronic modes
The Speedtronic system is a tempostat with variable and constant speed limiters.
The stalk control switch allows you to switch from the tempostat mode to the speed limit mode with a change in your own functions. Switching is done by pressing the end part of the switch lever handle.
In the tempostat mode, the rules for using the switch are similar to those described above for standard systems.
Attention! Variable speed limiter
A variable speed limiter allows, by limiting engine speed, not to exceed a certain speed threshold, for example, if it is necessary to comply with traffic rules.
Attention! Do not forget that the driver is always responsible for exceeding the speed limit!
The variable speed limit mode is activated by pressing the end part of the handle of the tempostat switch lever and is accompanied by the operation of the yellow LIM indicator on the handle, a similar inscription is displayed on the display screen.
Note. The limiter is activated only if the current vehicle speed differs from the limit value entered in the memory of the system by no more than 30 km/h.
Changing the speed limit value is done by pushing the switch lever up or down. The selected value is displayed on the information display screen. With the engine running, it is possible to enter any speed limit, starting from a value of 30 km/h.
The set speed limit can only be exceeded by depressing the gas pedal to the stop (enable kickdown mode).
The limit mode can be exited by briefly pushing the lever away from you, or by pressing the end of its handle - the LIM indication should disappear from the display screen. The limiter is automatically deactivated when the car accelerates in kickdown mode to a speed exceeding the limit value by more than 20 km / h.
If the limiter does not cope with the task, for example, when driving downhill, the alarm buzzer is activated and the word LIM on the information display screen starts flashing.
Note. Due to design features, the speedometer readings may differ slightly from the settings of the speed limiter.
Unlike the tempostat mode, depressing the foot brake pedal does not turn off the speed limiter.
Permanent speed limiter
With the help of a permanent limiter, the maximum speed of the vehicle can be limited, for example, when operating it with winter tires.
The limit can be set in the range from 190 km/h to the maximum possible vehicle speed. The set permanent speed limit remains in effect even if the variable speed limit is activated.
To activate the mode, press the end of the switch. move the AT selector lever to position «R», and the key in the ignition switch to position 2 (do not start the engine). Then, after waiting for about a second, pull the lever towards you, the speed value will appear on the display screen. When the lever is released, the indication will start flashing - the speed is set by pulling the lever up or down. Entering the selected value into the system memory is done by pulling the lever towards you - a confirmation sound signal should be heard.
If necessary, the setting can be reset - increase the input value until a triple dash appears on the screen (- - -), then pull the lever towards you until you hear a beep.
When the current vehicle speed approaches the set limit value, the latter is displayed on the information display in combination with the LIM mark.
Note. Short-term indication in flashing mode of the speed limit value entered into the memory of the device also occurs when the ignition is switched on.
If the limiter does not cope with the task, for example, when driving downhill, the alarm buzzer is activated and the word LIM on the information display screen starts flashing.
Note. Due to design features, the speedometer readings may differ slightly from the settings of the speed limiter.
