Cruise control with Speedtronic speed limiter (Mercedes-Benz A-Class W168)

0
Cruise control with Speedtronic speed limiter

  • 1 - switching on the speed limiter. The speed increase is performed in 10 km/h increments
  • 2 - switching on the speed limiter. The speed is reduced in 10 km/h increments
  • 3 - switching off the speed limiter. The set speed is saved in memory
  • 4 - return to the speed limiter memory. Speed adjustment upwards is performed in 1 km/h increments
  • 5 - switching to the cruise control/speed limiter. Speedtronic is on if the indicator light on the cruise control lever lights up and the LIM signal lights up on the speedometer. When switching to cruise control, the indicator light does not light up

Switching/activation

1. Start the engine. With the engine running, you can enter a limit for any speed over 30 kilometers per hour.

2. Switch from cruise control to Speedtronic. The indicator light on the cruise control lever should light up. If necessary, press the lever in the direction of arrow 5.

3. Press the cruise control lever in the direction of arrows 1, 2 or 4.

Speedtronic is engaged, indicated by the LIM indicator on the speedometer, and the set speed limit is shown on the instrument cluster display.

Moving the cruise control lever in the direction of arrow 1 results in the speed at which the car was moving before the Speedtronic was switched off. Subsequently pressing or holding the lever in the direction of arrow 1 results in a stepwise increase in speed by 10 kilometers per hour.

Shifting the cruise control lever in the direction of arrow 2 results in the speed at which the car was moving before the Speedtronic was switched off. Subsequently pressing or holding the lever in the direction of arrow 2 results in a stepwise reduction of the speed by 10 kilometers per hour.

Shifting the cruise control lever in the direction of arrow 4 results in the vehicle speed being returned to the speed at which the vehicle was travelling before the Speedtronic was switched off, if the current speed does not exceed it by more than 30 kilometres per hour.

Subsequent pressing or holding of the lever in the direction of arrow 4 results in a stepwise increase in speed by 1 kilometer per hour.

Speedtronic is switched off by moving the lever in the direction of arrow 3 or 5. The LIM indication on the speedometer goes out. If the lever is moved in the direction of arrow 5, the indicator light on the cruise control lever also goes out.

Speedtronic is also switched off if, with the accelerator pedal in the kick-down position, the driving speed does not differ from the set speed by more than 20 kilometers per hour.

Please note: If the Speedtronic does not maintain the speed limit, for example when driving downhill, an acoustic signal is given and the set speed limit flashes on the instrument cluster display.
