Warning! The emergency brake assist cannot prevent the risk of losing traction when skidding on turns or aquaplaning.
BAS helps to reduce the braking distance during emergency braking of the vehicle, and also ensures the full effectiveness of the ABS, ASR and ESP systems.
Pressing the foot brake pedal very quickly provides maximum braking force. If further braking of the vehicle is required, do not reduce the force applied to the pedal. When the foot brake pedal is released, BAS is automatically switched off.
When the on-board power supply voltage drops below 10 V, the BAS amplifier is switched off - the corresponding indicator lamp lights up on the instrument panel (a common indicator lamp is used for the BAS, ASR and ESP systems - see Section Instrument cluster, gauges and control lamps and indicator lights. Increasing the tension level automatically normalizes the situation.
