The dipstick is located in the engine compartment. ATF is also poured here (Automatic Transmission Fluid).
Attention: The check must be carried out with the box warmed up (+80°C).
Warm up the engine, the oil in the box should have a temperature of about + 80°C.
Put the unloaded car on a flat area, tighten the hand brake. The engine must be running at idle when checking to fill the torque converter.
Set the gear lever to position "R", apply the handbrake.
Move the probe lever (6) into position "A".
Remove the oil dipstick and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth, preferably with a piece of leather. Then fully insert, pull out again and read the reading.
At a normal level on a heated box (around +80°C) oil should reach the mark "max" on the probe.
Attention: Since February 1985, a new oil dipstick has been installed, with which you can quickly determine the oil level. After a test drive and the temperature of the oil in the box has warmed up to +40°C, the oil level should not exceed the lower ball on the dipstick. At an oil temperature of about +80°C, its level should be between the marks "min" And "max". The new dipstick can also be installed on older vehicles.
Oil is poured through a clean funnel, preferably with a fine mesh. Volume difference between labels "max" And "min" is 0.3 l.
Caution: Do not overfill with oil. If too much oil is filled in, malfunctions in the operation of the automation may occur. When overflowing oil, be sure to drain or suck out excess oil with syringes.
At the same time, check the oil on the dipstick for smell and color. Burnt pads give off a burnt smell. Contaminated oil can lead to transmission control problems.
Attention: Only fill with ATF oil. More than 100 ATF oils are listed in the car's instruction manual. In principle, all oils for automatic transmissions with the designation "Dextion II".
All permitted oils are allowed to be mixed. Do not use any additives or additives.
If the torque converter is not filled with ATF, do not start the engine or tow the vehicle.
After checking the level and topping up, fully insert the dipstick again (6) and move the lever to position "IN".
Press the brake pedal and slowly change all gears. Then check the oil level again.
