Attention: Oil change is carried out on a heated box.
Unscrew the oil filler pipe at the bottom in front of the oil sump and drain the oil into a vessel underneath.
Attention: If the oil has a burnt smell or a blackish color, the box should be repaired.
Unscrew oil sump and clean thoroughly. There are two magnetic washers in the oil sump, on which metal chips are collected. Clean magnets.
Caution: Use only clean, lint-free cloths for cleaning and ensure cleanliness in all work steps.
Unscrew the mesh sheet at the bottom of the box. This requires a socket wrench. Pull out the sheet with the grid.
Rinse the mesh in gasoline. When gum formation begins, which is determined by a brownish burnt coating, replace the mesh.
Insert mesh with spacer into sheet. Insert the sheet into the box and tighten the screws with a tightening torque of 25 Nm.
Screw on oil sump with magnets. At the same time, fix the mounting bracket so that it presses the crankcase with its short arm. Two corners with straight shoulders are attached to the sides. Screw the oil filler tube onto the box.
Pour in about 6 liters of ATF.
Attention: Fill only oils recommended by MB, see operating instructions.
Check oil level.
