Cleaning
1. Remove the cover that covers the hole for the towbar pin with the ball head.
2. Remove the towbar pin with the ball head.
3. Inspect the towbar pin with ball head 1 and the pin mounting hole 2. If the hole is dirty, clean it with a steam generator and dry it with compressed air. Clean the towbar pin itself with a brush under running water and wipe it dry with a rag (see illustration).

Attention! The towbar pin must not be cleaned under running water from a steam generator or using solvents, such as cleaning gasoline.
4. Measure the diameter of the ball head 3 of the towbar. If the head diameter is less than 49 mm, the towbar must be replaced (see illustration).

Examination
5. Inspect the towbar and make sure that there is no mechanical damage.
6. Pull the handwheel and set it to the "rot" (red) position so that the handwheel is locked in place.
7. Insert the towbar pin into the receiving hole until the pin is automatically locked into place.
Attention! The green mark on the flywheel must match the white mark on the finger.
8. Lock the flywheel. In this position it should not move outward or come out.
Lubrication
9. Lubricate the lock with liquid transmission oil.

- 6 - on the guide of the spherical pin and balls;
- 7 - on the fixed surface of the finger;
- 8 - on the guide surface of the finger (see illustration 32.10).
12. Apply a thin layer of plastic or universal grease to the surface of the ball pin receiving hole 2, indicated by the arrows (see illustration).
