Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Drain the oil from the gearbox while installing the filler tube from the gearbox oil pan and remove the oil drain screws from the torque converter.
Separate the inlet and outlet pipes for the oil cooler from the connecting pipes.
Remove the control pressure lever from the shaft, then remove the mounting screws.
Disconnect the cable from the Kickdown magnetic valve.

Unscrew the vacuum tube.
Disconnect the speedometer shaft from the gearbox.
Disconnect the starter and tail light control plug.

Raise the control rod up (see arrow).

Support the gearbox on an oil bath and disassemble the rear rubber bearing with the engine mounting bracket.

Unscrew the exhaust pipe bracket.
Remove the propeller shaft flange.
Separate after removing the flap from the torque converter clutch housing.
Remove the exhaust mounting screws.
Loosen the clutch housing mounting screws.
Push the gearbox with the torque converter back until the bearing journal of the converter can be released without touching anything.
Slowly release the gearbox downwards and pull it forward.
Installation occurs in reverse order.
When installing the torque converter, the gearbox must be placed vertically and carefully placed on the drive shaft.
In addition, care must be taken not to damage the sealing protrusion of the radial sealing ring in the primary pump housing during assembly and not to touch the clamp washer on the clutch housing when the gearbox is assembled.
