The automatic transmission provides automatic shifting in three forward gear ranges.
To ensure fast acceleration, for example when overtaking, the automatic transmission has a so-called "Kick-down" switch, which is activated when the gas pedal is fully pressed. The "Kick-down" effect either delays the transmission in a higher gear or switches from a higher to one of the lower gears.
Certain types of vehicles can be equipped with the W4 B025 automatic transmission upon special request. In this case, the transmission is sold with four gears and a torque converter.
Disassembly, assembly and adjustment of the automatic transmission are works for specialized workshops equipped with the necessary tools and devices. For this reason, only its removal and installation are described here.
