Disassembling the rear view mirror (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

Both exterior rearview mirrors are electrically adjustable. Switching is carried out by a handle on the central console. The mirrors are fixed on the outside of the doors with three bolts. To access the mounting bolts, fold the mirror back. The mirror housing is removed outward.

Sequence of works





1. Replace the mirror glass as described below: First press the mirror glass from the inside forward.

2. Fold the mirror and use a screwdriver to slightly push the spring clip 2 outward (fig. 10.11), holding the mirror housing.

3. Remove the mirror housing.

4. Disengage the spring from the top side of the glass 2 (fig. 10.12) mirrors.

5. Disconnect the wires going to the mirror heater.
