Removing
Removing the metal protective cap of the Lambda sensor
1. The lambda sensor is screwed into the exhaust pipe and can be accessed from under the vehicle.
2. Raise the front of the car and fix it on stands or place the car over a viewing hole.
3. Perform further work only after the engine and exhaust system have completely cooled down.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector located on the wires of the Lambda sensor. To disconnect the connector, turn it a quarter of a turn counterclockwise and remove it from the socket.
Attention! On later models, the electrical connector for the Lambda sensor is located in the passenger compartment under the driver's foot mat. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove it through the sealing ring in the bottom.
5. Remove the metal protective cap, then unscrew the lambda sensor from the front exhaust pipe (see picture).
Installation
1. Apply a thin layer of non-stick compound to the threads of the Lambda sensor, being careful not to get any non-stick material on the tip of the sensor.
2. Screw the Lambda sensor into the front exhaust pipe and tighten it to the required torque, then connect the sensor's electrical connector.
