Removal and installation the TDC sensor (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123)

1 - bracket; 2 - shoe; 3 - TDC sensor; 4 - sensor mounting bracket; 5 - contact pin; 6 - template.

1. Disconnect bracket 1 from the box.

2. Disconnect connector 2.

2. Disconnect connector 2.


3. Remove the TDC sensor 3 from the bracket 4 upwards.

4. Loosen the bracket mounting bolts 4.

4. Loosen the bracket mounting bolts 4.


5. Put on the template 6 (manufacture according to the attached drawing) to contact pin 5.

6. Bring the TDC sensor up to the stop in the template.

7. In this position, tighten the bracket mounting bolts 4 (see above).

8. When installing the TDC sensor, ensure that the OT mark matches (tDC position) on the engine flywheel with a lug on the timing mechanism drive cover.
