General information
A four-stroke, four- or six-cylinder, in-line engine is mounted vertically along the vehicle's axis or with a longitudinal tilt at an angle of 15° to the right (M 102.980, M 102.982). Spark-ignition, water-cooled, overhead camshaft engines (m 110 twin overhead camshaft engine), chain driven from the crankshaft sprocket. The valves are actuated directly by rocker arms or via hydraulic tappets.
