Marks for tensioning the accessory drive belt on the engine tension roller M 102.982. To tension the belt, loosen nut 482 by 1/4 turn and turn nut 481 to the right until the adjusting pin aligns with the mark (5th for vehicles without power steering and 7th for vehicles with power steering or air conditioning compressor), then tighten nut 482.

1. Place the alternator drive belt on the pulleys.

2. Make sure the tension roller is in the original position for adjustment.

3. Place the belt tension adjustment indicator opposite the zero mark on the scale.

4. Tighten the tension roller adjusting bolt until the belt tension adjustment indicator is opposite the 7th division of the scale (or 5th on vehicles without power steering).
