Removing
Note: A new gasket may be required during installation.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Raise the hood to the fully open position.
3. Unfasten the latches and remove the plastic cover from the top of the dispenser (see fig. 4.3).
Pic. 4.3. Unfasten the latches (shown by arrows) and remove the plastic cover from the distributor
4. Disconnect the high voltage wires from the spark plugs, making sure they are numbered.
5. Using a screwdriver, carefully pry the high-voltage wire housing off the camshaft cover, and slide it to one side (do not disconnect the wires from the case). It is not necessary to disconnect the wires from the distributor cap, unless it is required for further work. If the wires come loose from the cover, make sure they are numbered so they can be reinstalled without being mixed up.
6. Disconnect the camshaft cover ventilation hose from the air cleaner.
7. Disconnect the small ventilation hose from the camshaft cover.
8. Turn away eight bolts of fastening of a cover of a cam-shaft and remove washers.
9. Lift the cover off the cylinder head. If the lid is stuck, try rocking it by hand, and if necessary tap it gently with a wooden mallet - be careful as the lid is easily damaged.
10. Remove gasket.
Installation
11. Check the condition of the gasket and, where provided, the seals on / swallow the discs. Replace if necessary. The seals on the sealing discs must be positioned correctly and the seal joint must lie flat (no bend) around the disk.
12. Install the gasket into the grooves on the camshaft cover, starting from the front and rear.
13. Install the cover on the head block, making sure that the gasket has risen correctly, then tighten the mounting bolts.
14. Gradually tighten the bolts to the required torque in order.
15. Connect ventilation hoses.
16. Snap the high voltage wire housing into place on the camshaft cover, then connect the high voltage wires to the spark plugs and, where necessary, to the distributor cap. Check that the wires are connected correctly, as they were before removal.
17. Install the plastic cap on the distributor cap.
18. Connect the negative battery terminal.
