Parking brake — checking operation (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W201)
1. Applying normal medium pressure, fully tighten the parking brake, counting the number of clicks on the ratchet mechanism. If the adjustment is correct, there should be approximately 7 or 8 clicks before the parking brake is fully locked. If there are fewer than 4 or more than 11 clicks, adjustment is required. Refer to Chapter 9 for a description of the adjustment procedure.
