Activating the dashboard

The instrument panel is activated when:
  • opening the door;
  • by pressing the R "21" button on the dashboard;
  • turning the electronic key in the ignition switch to position 1 or 2;
  • turning on the light.

Instrument lighting

The instrument lighting is adjusted automatically depending on the lighting conditions - brighter or darker.

If the vehicle's exterior lighting is on, the switch illumination is also adjusted.

Basic brightness setting in twilight or darkness:
  • Briefly press the control knob "1" - the control knob extends.
  • Turn the control knob "1" to the right - the instrument lighting becomes brighter.
  • Turn the control knob "1" to the left - the instrument lighting is dimmed.

Note: In daylight, the basic brightness setting is not possible - the brightness is adjusted automatically.

Coolant temperature gauge "5"

When properly filled with antifreeze with anti-corrosion additives, the boiling point of the coolant in a pressurized cooling system is reached at a temperature of approximately 130°C.

At high outside temperatures and when driving in the mountains, the coolant temperature may rise to the red marking sector.

Outside air temperature indicator "6"

There is a risk of accident!

Indication of a temperature above freezing is not a guarantee that the road is free of ice - especially on forest clearings and bridges.

A drop in temperature, for example after leaving the garage, is indicated only after a short period of adaptation to lower temperature conditions.

The temperature increase is indicated with a time delay. This ensures that when the vehicle is stopped or moving slowly, the temperature will not be indicated too high due to the engine's exhaust heat.

Note: The unit of measurement for temperature indication can be set in the system menu "Individual setting" (Section Multifunctional steering wheel, multi-information display).

Speedometer "9"

In cruise control mode, segments from the stored speed to the maximum speed light up.

(Publication reprinted from this resource: MercedesMan.ru)

(Tempostat - refer to Section Vehicle control and auxiliary systems).

In "Distronic" mode, one or two segments in the memorized speed zone light up.

(System "Distronic" - refer to Section Vehicle control and auxiliary systems).

If the system is turned on "Speedtronic", the segments from the beginning of the scale to the set speed limit light up.

(System "Speedtronic" - refer to Section Vehicle control and auxiliary systems).

Note: The unit of measurement for the speed indication can be set in the system menu "Individual setting" (Section Multifunctional steering wheel, multi-information display).

Odometer "13"

Resetting the reading to 0 km:
  • If the instrument cluster is not activated, activate it as described above in this Section.
  • If the trip meter is not displayed, press the button on the multifunction steering wheel several times until the display appears (Section Multifunctional steering wheel, multi-information display).

Press the R "21" button on the instrument panel.

Tachometer "16"

Red marking on the tachometer - the range of excessive engine speed. This range should be avoided as a matter of principle - there is a risk of engine damage.

To protect the engine, when the red marking range is reached, the fuel supply is interrupted.
