Contents: Removal and disassembly ↡ Installation ↡

Removal and disassembly

Remove the pan or the bottom of the pan.

Remove the mounting bolts (arrows) on the cylinder block and on the crankshaft bearing cover.

Remove the oil pump together with the holder. For 8-cylinder engines, after loosening the mounting bolts, loosen the bolt on the toothed wheel (sprocket), tilt the oil pump back and unscrew the bolts. Disconnect the sprocket from the pump using a screwdriver.

Remove the sprocket from the chain.

Unscrew the intake pipe. Remove the mesh after removing the clamping ring.

Unscrew the lower part of the oil pump housing.

Remove the pump axle with gear and drive shaft from the upper part of the housing.

Installation

Clean the parts and check them for wear. If the housing or gears are damaged, it is recommended to replace the pump completely.

The oil pump is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly.

Check that the pump gears rotate easily.

Install the intake pipe with a new gasket. Check the adapter for tightness.

Install the oil pump together with the holder. If there is a skew, then you need to slightly turn the crankshaft back and forth until the pump is installed correctly.

For 8-cylinder engines, attach the sprocket to the chain.

Place the oil pump on the sprocket. You need to insert the tension sleeve in the sprocket into the groove of the drive shaft.

Tilt the oil pump back, install the bolts and tighten them.

Screw in the mounting bolts and tighten.

For 8-cylinder engines, make sure that the chain tensioner pressure spring does not rotate when tightening the bolts. Hold the pressure spring with a screwdriver.

After this, install the oil pan.
