6-cylinder engines
Disconnect the oil return line at the oil sump.
Loosen the 6 bolts of the protective pan on the cylinder block and remove the pan.
Turn the front wheels to the left and unscrew the bolts of the protective cover.
Remove the vibration damper and then unscrew the lower holder of the alternator.
Then unscrew the bolts of the upper part of the oil sump, but so that 2 more bolts in the cylinder block remain wrapped.
Remove the lower part of the sump and then take out the oil pump after removing the three mounting bolts.
Pull up the guide tube for the oil dipstick from the holder and knock it out from under the bottom with a plastic hammer from the top of the oil sump.
On vehicles equipped with a compressor (with air conditioning system), remove the lower column.
Unhook the throttle controls.
Detach propshaft from gearbox and pull back.
Unscrew the engine shock absorber at the bottom and unscrew the engine mounting bolts on the engine mounts.
Hang the engine front and rear on the engine removal axles and lift it up until the oil sump can separate.
Before installing, clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil sump.
Replace radial rear O-ring and press it in.
Trim the radial sealing ring so that it protrudes approx. 0.5 or 1.0 mm above the plane and achieve the desired overlap. Here you can use a custom template. The overlap of the grey-graphite O-ring is 1.0 mm, the yellow-brown is 0.5 mm. Lubricate the O-ring with oil.
Lubricate the contact surface of the oil sump with sealant and install it, first you need to slightly tighten the 2 bolts in front and behind. The oil sump must rest against the intermediate flange or be screwed in before tightening the bolts to the cylinder block.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
After installation, check the operation of the control levers.
8-cylinder engines
Remove the compressor with support and tension roller.
Remove adjusting (managers) leverage.
Remove the lower part of the oil sump.
Remove the oil dipstick guide tube.
Remove oil pump.
Loosen the upper oil sump bolts.
Unscrew both engine mounting bolts on the engine support.
Loosen both engine shock absorbers.
Unhook the radiator frame and then raise the engine with a crane or a suitable winch until the oil sump can be removed.
To install, stick a new oil sump gasket with grease to the oil sump.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
The rear contact plane of the oil pan must be flush with the rear plane of the cylinder block. If this is not the case, then this can lead to noise and vibrations.
