Rear suspension shock absorbers are simultaneously used as rear suspension travel limiters. Therefore, the shock absorbers are removed in the position when the car is on wheels or if the suspension arm rests on a jack when the car body is placed on stands.
Remove the rear seat and backrest.
Remove the cover on the rear wall of the body.
Loosen the shock absorber upper mount nut, remove the washer and the upper mount rubber pad.
Loosen the lower shock absorber.
Remove shock absorber.
Before installing, check the shock absorber mounting details. The metal bushing should fit snugly into the rubber base of the lower shock mount pivot. The lower joint must not rotate in the lower eye of the shock absorber.
Install the shock absorber, tighten the upper shock absorber mounting nut. Pay attention to the correct position of all parts of the shock absorber. Fix the cover on the rear wall of the body, install the rear seat and rear seat backrest.
