Mercedes offers a wide range of petrol engines of various designs and power levels to suit the most demanding customers, from a 2-litre engine with 136 hp to the most powerful E-Class engine with a 5.4-litre capacity. All engines are equipped with a fuel injection system and are longitudinally mounted in the vehicle. Fig. 5.1 shows a petrol 8-cylinder V-engine.
