Draining fuel from the fuel tank (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

The fuel tank does not have a drain plug. The fuel supply and outlet pipes are not located at the bottom of the tank, so you can drain the fuel by gravity, simply by disconnecting the pipe (having opened the cork), impossible.

Sequence of works

1. If the tank is still quite full, unscrew the tank cap and lower the hose inside as far as possible.

2. Close the opening of the hose tightly with your finger. The draining container should be located below the level of the fuel tank. Lower the end of the hose into the draining container. If the other end of the hose is sufficiently immersed in the fuel tank, the fuel will flow by gravity into the draining container. Sucking fuel with your mouth is dangerous to your health.

3. If there is little fuel in the tank, the above-described method of draining is not suitable. It is necessary to use a special fuel pump.
